September 2018

New for 2018 - I'm very excited to be offering linocut workshops for beginners in my artist's studio in the heart of the Mayenne countryside.  These 1-day workshops will enable students to learn the basics in linocutting, producing a print that can be framed and will inspire participants to create more linocuts in their own homes.  Each course is 70 Euros per person and includes materials, refreshments and a light lunch.  For a brochure with full details, please contact me on

February to April 2015

Open Exhibition at Ferens Art Gallery, Hull (14 February to 26 April)

After a quiet few months, things are picking up again in 2015.  The first 'event' was to hear that I had one of my prints ('The Swell to Lindesfarne') selected for the Ferens Open Exhibition.  Having been unsuccessful last year, I'm thrilled to have been selected this year.  On top of that, having visited the exhibition last weekend, I've found that my print has been sold - the first time I've seen a red dot against my artwork in such an exhibition!!  This popular annual event for both amateur and professional artists is a celebration of creative talent and is certainly well worth the visit.  Check gallery opening times - entry is free of charge.

November 2014

In August, I was invited to join Printmakers Circle. This is a group of professional artists living and working in North Yorkshire who specialise in printmaking.  I feel privileged to be a member of such a talented and dynamic group of printmakers/artists.  Before I knew it, I was taking part in their first 'print exchange' - check out the Printmakers Circle Facebook page for full details on this and other associated events and activities: https://www.facebook.com/printmakerscircle.  My offering was a blended colour linocut print, 'Bumper Crop', which was included in the full compliment of 12 prints, which each participating artist received in a beautiful presentation box.  Details of the prints can be found on the facebook page - I'm so excited to have taken part and to be a recipient of such wonderful prints.

November 2014

York Steiner School Advent Fair (Saturday 23 November, 10 am to 4 pm)

I'm very much looking forward to participating in the Advent Fair again this year.  It was great to be able to talk to so many people last year and hope I will have as many visitors to my stand again this time.  I shall have a large range mounted and framed prints for sale, along with greetings cards, depicting a selection of my prints.  I will be more than happy to explain how I produce my linocut, drypoint and collagraph prints, so please do stop by for a chat!

July 2014

'Open Studio' (Sunday 20 July)

One year on from my studio being completed and up and running, I decided to hold a 'mini' Open Studio event for my colleagues and friends as an opportunity to show people who were interested what I have been up to over the last year.  It was great fun and I was lucky that the weather held up after torrential rain and thunder storms the day before!  A steady but staggered stream of visitors came throughout the day and I thoroughly enjoyed explaining how I have produced my prints, the techniques involved and how the different effects have been acheived.  It was a little nerve-wracking at first but once I started getting into the detail and it was obvious visitors were keen to know more, I was well away!!  Many thanks to Marti who supplied the cakes, which were an artform themselves, and to my husband for making sure everyone had drinks and cake and were never left without someone looking after them!  Thanks also to all the lovely visitors for taking an interest in my work and in some cases, taking prints home with them!

July 2014

Barton Arts Festival

Art Exhibiton at Trinity Methodist Church

Belated notice of this exhibiton which ran from 28 June to 6 July, as part of the Barton Arts Festival.  Organiser, Liz Bennet, explained this used to be a popular regular annual event, which they were trying re-establish.  All entries were hung in the Trinity Methodist Church and there was something for everyone from prints to acrylics and ceramics to sculpture.  I enjoyed taking part and seeing the diverse mix of art on display - I very much hope it will be running again next year.

June 2014

North Lincolnshire Print Open Exhibition

After much gnashing of teeth, I learnt last week that one of my latest prints, 'New Season II', has been selected for this biennial event, hosted by the Ropewalk at Barton on Humber.  It runs from 7 June to 7 September, so plenty of time to pop along and see the huge range of prints on display!  The selectors were two printmakers, Melvyn Petterson and Alf Ludlam, who both have roots in the area.

The fourth biennial North Lincolnshire Print Open has attracted printmakers from throughout the country and selectors Alf Ludlam & Melvyn Petterson had a very difficult job reducing the numbers of entries to fit the space.

“The exhibition is a strong mix of imagery in terms of size, media, colour and techniques with a combination of traditional and modern methods. The standard of submission was so high that many artists whose work has not been included should not be discouraged.”

Flourish Award Exhibition 2013

West Yorkshire Print Workshop, Mirfield

I'm delighted to have been selected from a number of printmakers in Yorkshire to exhibit at this year's WYPW annual event.  The exhibition runs from 28 September to 8 November 2013.

The award was established in 2009 to celebrate and promote excellence in printmaking from WYPW members. This is an exciting development and allows WYPW to champion and showcase the best printmaking from practitioners across Yorkshire. It provides Yorkshire artists and printmakers the opportunity to exhibit their work at the WYPW Gallery and go on to plan their own solo print exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery in 2014 as part of the prizes awarded to the winner.
