About me

My work is inspired by my love of nature; plants, animals, birds and insects all feature in my prints. I use my own photographic material for reference. My prints are translated from original drawings in which I enjoy using tones and shadows to build up the composition. The challenge for me is then transferring these monochrome drawings into multicoloured linocut prints.

There are many other printmaking techniques, with varying degrees of technical complexity. The drypoint intaglio printmaking technique, for example, lends itself to many of my pencil drawings, while collagraphs enable depth, fine detail and tonal work. After a permanent move to France in 2015, my husband finished building a new studio in 2017, which is now full of all my printmaking equipment, including my Hawthorne etching press, so now, after a 2 year break, new linocuts, drypoints and collagraphs will gradually be added to the gallery.
